Fetal death occurred in 31.8 per cent of pregnancies that had exposure to a high concentration of methylene blue, compared with 14.5 per cent of pregnancies exposed to a low concentration and 4.3 per cent of pregnancies with no exposure to dye.

Counter Argument
Do note, it is likely that the group of women considered in the study had underlying complications due to which they were administered MB in the first place. Also, purity of MB back then could also be a question. Irrespective, the %age of coorelation is pretty high to be ignored and considered mere chance.

Also, such a study is impossible to be done now that we know there likely is risk to the child. So any/every study is retrospective or a chance finding.

We had a lot of pregnant women administered MB during Covid - so even the quantity of dosage would matter.

But irrespective of this, we have a strong view that Methylene Blue should not be taken by pregnant or women trying to conceive.
